the Rapunzel of nails?

i had always heard that being pregnant was a magical time for the health and growth of your hair and nails..... and while i never believed it before.... Now i do!

i started with short hair and it is now growing steadily.. i hope to even be able to pull it back in a ponytail by the time Tiggerbean is born....

but that is not the part that impresses me soo much.

my entire life, i have had weak and brittle nails.... the only time i could ever have long nails was if they were fake or i had an acrylic overlay put on them... but as any woman who has done acrylic knows.. that can get really expensive with the upkeep.... usually if my nails got more than 2 millimeters long (and yes.. that means SHORT still) they would start to flake and break....

but now? oh my goodness.... it's like they have a life of their own.

these are my nails right now with no acrylic.. no manicure... no polish.. nothing... even i am amazed at how long and strong they are... makes me wish i could be pregnant all the time...

and the funniest part is i think it is all about actually BEING pregnant... not about taking vitamins, as so many people i know say it is.

i have been taking prenatal vitamins for over a year and a half now... especially with all the IVF stuff we never knew when we'd get pregnant so i started on prenatals when we started planning for IVF.. and my nails were always brittle and weak....

but NOW?... 16 weeks preggo and my fingers are the Rapunzel of nails....

it's awesome....

now i want to go get a pretty mani with a pedi to match :)

oh yes... don't even get me started on how strong and pretty my toenails are right now... lol
